npi RES-06
The RES-06 module is designed to measure the electrode resistance (REL) for up to six amplifier modules such as the EXT-10C. The electrode to be tested is selected via a rotary switch.
The measurement is performed by applying triangle voltage pulses over the bus of the EPMS-07 housing and the headstage of the amplifier. The triangle pulses are transformed into square current pulses and applied to the respective electrode. The voltage deflection caused by this current injection is recorded, sent to the RES-06 and processed to get a direct reading of the electrode resistance in MΩ or GΩ on the digital display. Although the accuracy of the triangle pulses and the resulting square pulses is not very high, it is sufficient to measure REL with an accuracy of up to 100 kΩ.
The system can be triggered manually with a push button or via TTL pulse with an external device. An analog resistance monitor is provided as well.
